‘Nature Party!’ Wildlife Watch Group for Kids

You’re invited to the end-of-year ‘Nature Party’ from Rushcliffe Wildlife Watch on Saturday 9th December at 11am-1pm in our Country Park.

The event is for children aged between 8 and 12, from the village and beyond, that get involved with the usual 2-hour nature sessions run by Nottinghamshire Wildlife Trust.

Organisers say they’ve arranged some treats for you on Saturday, so wrap up warmly for this Winter event:

“Firstly, we are going to be talking about what the poor birds find to eat in the winter, then we shall give them a helping hand, by preparing our own special bird feeder treats for them. After that, we shall go into the park so we can find out what food there still is out there for our park’s birds. Some birds scurry around looking for grubs and insects on the groud, others are keen on nuts in the trees, whilst many others enjoy tucking into berries. Hopefully, you eagle eyed spotters will spot some of these.”

Then inside, children can warm up, play a game and have some nibbles and drinks. Please let the team know if your child would like to join this Christmas session to ensure they’ve enough snacks and refreshments – also inform them about food and/or drink allergies. Call 0115 958 8242.

Rushcliffe Wildlife Watch group meets monthly (except in August) at 11am usually at Rushcliffe Country Park on the second Saturday, outside the Education Centre by the lake.

Leader Geoff East from the Trust says: “Watch groups are like a wild club for kids. The group is led by the activities the children want to complete, including lots of time spent outdoors meaning a fun, creative and enthusiastic learning experience!
